Abstract

John F. Kennedy’s presidency, the New Frontier, began with a vision of serving world peace by protecting human rights. At home, Kennedy supported civil rights for Americans who were routinely denied the most basic human rights. For people abroad, he established the Peace Corps, which gave Americans a chance to share knowledge and skills to raise the standard of living among impoverished people around the world.
