Abstract: The aim of this study is to determine if students are receiving sufficient high school technology training and access to computers in high school and college to meet the requirements of college coursework. 134 students who had graduated high school from the years 2001 – 2004 were surveyed from a college on Long Island, New York. Results indicate that students believe their high school technology training was insufficient in preparing them for the rigors of their college course requirements. Results further show that greater access to computers in both high school and college influence technology use in college. The results of this study will provide K-12 and higher education administrators information that can help guide their curriculum and computer allocation decisions.
